No Sleep Day
I was over-reacting a bit in the last update about my writing. While not the best I’ve produced, I was just feeling stressed. It turned out fine (at least, fine enough according to Breno).
My day was certainly crazy hectic, which I’m glad for. Kept me on my sleep-deprived toes. I spent the morning running around with an add/drop slip so I could graduate course-based instead of...
I am such an incredibly shitty writer. I’m been trying to tidy up a writeup for Breno, but it’s just terrible. I was too busy this week with exams to work on it until last night and I’m too burnt out to do work that isn’t firmly in the pathetic category.
Ugh, I need to just get some citations in it, try to remove glaringly poor writing, and ship it off….some times...
Job Interview
I spoke with a HR woman at the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Panama City this afternoon. I’ll be visting next Tuesday, May 1st, to see the facility as well as be interviewed for a job.
I’m going home this weekend to visit my family and celebrate Anna Claire’s 1st birthday and would have liked to stay longer, but looks like I’ll not be able to stay for much more than...

I worry sometimes that I’m doing the wrong thing with my life. I am just utterly bored with school and pretty much everything else. I feel like a lump on a log and I’m really tired of this feeling. Maybe I’m just too used to seeking entertainment and stimulus every hour of every day.

Ashburn, GA is about a hundred miles from Tallahassee. And people make fun of me for being from Tennessee. Yikes.
Last College Saturday
Went to a picnic sponsored by ACM/WiCS (FSU CS clubs) and had a good time playing in the annual grad versus undergrad softball game.
It finally rained in Tally last week, so the pollen is finally gone, allowing me to wash my car without it getting dirty again just by parking at home for an hour.

I received a new book in the mail today. The excerpts at Slate were interesting.
Shiny
My replacement iPod came in the mail today. It looks brand new, no nicks or scratches. I’m thinking of ditching the case I used previously and get one of the screen covers. The old case did a good job of protecting it, but it was kind of bulky.

…I’m apparently going to graduate this semester after all. I wish I could say I feel much of anything. I suppose relief because it’s one less thing to worry about.
I would have hoped graduting with a Master’s degree wouldn’t be so underwhelming. Maybe it’s because I wonder if I’ve learned much. I’m sure I have, but this semester has been the least...

Programming Projects
One of the recurring problems with nearly every programming assignment I’ve had while at Florida State has been underspecification and ambiguity. I don’t remember this problem occuring at High Point. I’m sure it happened, but it wasn’t systematic like it seems here.
The latest example is the final project for my Compiler Construction class. Despite having an eleven (11!)...
I think I enjoy waiting until the last moment to file taxes…mainly because it never takes more than an hour.

Turo: what does that even mean?
Zachary: i have no farking idea
I’ve been writing code for Compilers all day…almost done…this project is freaking ridiculous…type checking my ass…at least this will be the first programming project I’ve actually completed ahead of time in forever…

I need to try this out when I get home to see if my router is actually giving the right thoroughput. I hope it compiles on OS X.
Yeah…stayed out too late last night, but it was Park’s last night. The all-you-can-eat pancakes this morning helped.

New Home
After having shut down my previous weblog last year I’ve decided to give blogging another go. This time I’ve decided to go with a hosted one because it’ll require less work on my end, which means I’ll be more likely to actually use it.
