Army of Dude: The Real Deal →
A commentary by a soldier in the U.S. Army about Rush Limbaugh’s recent statement labeling soldiers that don’t support the war “phony”.

Ever notice that iMovie is a complete piece of shit? I’m trying to sync up a video clip with a music clip. Couldn’t be more fucking useless if it tried.

The Amazon MP3 store is really nice: cheap and DRM-free. Considering that it has Universal’s (largest record label) and EMI’s music catalogue on it, I don’t think I have a reason to use the iTunes Music Store anymore.

I swear, the cats are in love with my backpack. They’re laying on top of it, napping. Of course, a few feet away, and completely ignored, is the soft sleep mat I bought for them at the pet store.

For some inscrutable reason my cats love to lay on my backpack. Any time I lay it on the couch or floor, go to do something, then come back, boom, there they are.

Irony: The AT&T Wireless website has a special store locator so that you can find the nearest store that carries Apple iPhones; the webpage doesn’t work in the Apple web browser, Safari.

UPS Sucks Redux
While home on my lunch break the UPS came. Knocked on the door, I opened, he thrust the package into my hands and walked off. No signature asked for, nor listed as required on the package. The question is do I call UPS again and bitch them out some more for what the woman said on the phone yesterday. I wish Amazon.com didn’t use them. I know I won’t personally use them unless...

UPS Sucks
UPS Sucks. And, to a lesser extent, so does my apartment’s leasing office. I had packages coming from Amazon.com both Tuesday and Wednesday. I missed the one on Tuesday because I got home after the office closed at 6. The package that should have been delivered Wednesday wasn’t left at the front office; the slip claimed the delivery required a signature. However, experience has taught...

Weekend Update
It was nice having this weekend off after working the last one. It doesn’t seem like much to work two more days after a five day work week, but it really started to catch up with me during the second week. I slept a lot, getting up past noon both days (though I woke up a little after 7 AM both days and had to go back to sleep). At the invitation of a couple of my co-workers, I went to a...

I just saw 3:10 to Yuma. I thought it was great with great jobs done by everyone involved, especially Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. Unfortunately, the fact that the movie was a Western was apparently lost on some of my fellow audience members because as I left the theatre I overhood a few people lamenting the ending. “It was stupid” and “pointless.” I guess they...

Crazy Florida weather.
I just drove home from a movie in a thunderstorm. The theatre is about 6 miles according to Google Maps. During that drive I entered and exited the storm multiple times. Starting at the theatre there was a light/moderate rain. After a mile or two it turned heavy. Then for about half a mile it was very light, practically nothing. Then I entered again and it was torrential. It was like this until...

I’m man enough to admit that the song I currently can’t get out of my head is Timbaland’s “The Way I Are.” If you’ve heard the lyrics to the song you’ll understand why admitting enjoying it might raise eyebrows.

I’ve run ten miles this weekend. Five on Friday night and another five Sunday night. I did eleven minute miles the whole time, but I’m comfortable trading intensity for endurance for the time being. Not bad for a weekend that I worked both days. I’ll lose the spare tire on my waist eventually.

Looks like Amazon.com has remodeled their site. It’s too early to tell whether the change was good or bad because the lack of familiarity makes me wish for the old version. I do know, regardless of whether the navigation has been improved or not, that the new colors are ugly. I like the orange, but the shade of blue looks more like a dull gray. Boo.
