UPS Sucks

UPS Sucks. And, to a lesser extent, so does my apartment’s leasing office. I had packages coming from Amazon.com both Tuesday and Wednesday. I missed the one on Tuesday because I got home after the office closed at 6. The package that should have been delivered Wednesday wasn’t left at the front office; the slip claimed the delivery required a signature. However, experience has taught me that they’ll leave the package with the front office on the second day and when I inspect the shipment sticker there is never anything about a signature.

This has happened 3 times now and is such bullshit. Every package I have shipped by UPS is a order from Amazon.com and it is always a 2nd Day Air shipment. I never order anything “adult” from Amazon.com, just books and CDs (and even the CDs that have a “parental advisory” sticker on them have never required a signature), so this is total shit. I suspect that the UPS driver is too fucking lazy to actually stop by the front office and leave the package there. Must be running late or something.

I tried to call UPS and lodge a complaint, but the woman on the phone was an unhelpful, to put it mildly. She claimed there’s no way they can lodge a complaint against a driver. I find it surprising that a delivery company doesn’t have some kind of mechanism which to leave feedback on a driver. I tried to explain to her that I know the shipment didn’t required a signature, but she was giving me bullshit about the shipper doing that. I tried to explain to her, but she was too much of a dumbass to understand that the shipper did not in fact require a signature, that it is their driver that’s full of shit.

To top it all off, when I tried to go to my apartment office to pick up the Tuesday package they had a sign on the door saying they closed the office at 4:45 for an “office business function.” What the fuck? I certain that the vast majority of the residents don’t get home until 5 or after, so closing it at 4:45 is fucking retarded. Why couldn’t they have closed the office to do this “business function” earlier in the day when everybody else was at fucking work? Seriously, what a load of crap.
