I love the combination of daylight savings and summertime. Daylight for hours and hours in the evening and, so far, temperatures in the upper 70s. My (new?) favorite part of the year, even if the day can sometimes get quite hot during midday.
I started working for the Department of State Division of Elections today—this is a short term job I was offered at the end of the school year, to tide me over until I found a more permanent position. The work environment and people are nice.
The project they have me working on involves formulating a process for performing code reviews/audits on voting systems software. I’m not quite sure yet what that involves, but I’ve been told they expect it to be a learning process for everyone involved and I’m sure Dr. Y can give me some pointers and I can consider whatever literature is out there for doing code security audits.
