Busy Busy Busy!
Life has just been too damn busy recently. I went to Tallahassee last weekend and partied hard with the friends that are still left at FSU. Lots of fun, but I don’t know if I ever want to stay up that late or get that little sleep in a weekend ever again. I hadn’t seen them in a long time, so it was worth it though. When I got home Sunday afternoon I promptly fell asleep while on the phone talking to my poor Mom. Sorry!
The girls were spayed today. A couple of shockers:
- Cost came out to around $550! The actual surgery and drugs were about $170 each, but apparently Julie was just about to go into heat and had to have extra work done to the tune of about $100. They were both microchiped for $35 each and it turned out they had tapeworms (yup! Guess I’ll have to “bomb” for fleas again, sigh) so they needed some stuff for that. It’s worth it because I love them dearly, but I’m thinking about finding another, less expensive, vet possibly.
- Apparently they have to take antibiotics? I don’t ever remember having to do this with all the cats I had growing up and Mom says the same. This could be a problem because I was planning on leaving them for a couple of days while going home for Thanksgiving. I knew I needed to make sure they were okay, but I figured anything that was going to happen would over the next day or so.
- The cats have been pretty active. My memory with our other cats was that they were very sleepy and sluggish for the next day or so. These two have been raising hell as usual, though they seem to have the sense to not jump up on chairs.
Everything else has been good. Works going well enough, though its getting to the time of year that everybody seems to be gone half the time because they have more leave than they know what to do with (maybe donate some to people like me who’ve only been here a few months?) so it’s a bit annoying when I need information from people who aren’t around and won’t be all week.
I wish I had more time for WoW, guitar, and reading! Trying to learn guitar, level up in WoW, and read a book take more time than the seemingly miniscule hours I have before going to bed each night.
