iTunes Happenings
I just noticed that iTunes has changed the way they sort Artist names. I’m not sure, but I think the change must have been in 7.3 because I only noticed it a couple of days ago.
The first change I noticed is that Artist names starting with a number, e.g. 311, are now sorted last, i.e. after the letter Z, whereas they were previously sorted first, i.e. before the letter A.
Kind of irksome that they changed it because at first I thought I had somehow deleted it. Its not fun to panic and think you might have accidentally deleted any amount of music.
The second change I noticed is that Artist names starting with the article ‘A’, e.g. A Perfect Circle, are now sorted by the first non-article.
Both changes are lame and caused me quite a bit of grief until I realized what was going on. Fuck you too Apple.
