Life Off the ‘Net or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Information Deprivation

Kudos to anybody that knows the movie that inspired the post title. Anyway, tonight is one of the first time’s I’ve had Internet access since I moved to PCB. Comcast is slow as shit and won’t install my cable television or internet access until Saturday (and I have to pay a f-ing fee! I tried to talk them into letting me pick up the damn box and installing it myself, but they want to squeeze the install fee out of me) so I don’t have access to the outside word. I’m hanging out at a local coffee shop right now. Seriously, isn’t access to the Internet practically a basic utility by now? I should be able to call them up and have it on the next day, just like electricity or water.

Seriously, what did people do back before the Web? I don’t know where shit is around here and I’m so used to using Google/Yahoo maps to find everything I need. Thank god I have Kenny here in PCB to show me around and keep me busy in the interim.

Life in the new apartment is going well so far. No pictures yet because I haven’t had the time/energy to unpack much more than the bare necessities, where bare necessities are defined as work clothes and cat stuff. The kittens are having a ball running themselves silly now that they aren’t cooped up in my old room. Now if only I could get them to leave the damn boxes alone.
